FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: grinding wheel has a ring coated with abrasive layer which contains coaxially-positioned end sections of coarse grinding with section of finishing grinding placed between them. Ring is positioned on body and secured on it with locks. Body is located underfinishing grinding section. Coarse sections are arranged in cantilever way above body. They have noncontinuous operating surface with through radial recesses forming cantilever damping projections. Ring end faces are inclined at an angle β to plane perpendicular to wheel axis of rotation. The angle β depends on depth of cutting, radial component of cutting force and wheel diameter. The wheel makes it possible to improve quality due to cutting zone oscillation and to extended service life of tool. EFFECT: improved design. 3 dwg
