FIELD: treatment of wood. SUBSTANCE: wastes of pulp and paper industry or excessive active silt of purification devices are used as raw materials for production of dye. Said raw materials are oxidized by air oxygen, the process is carried out at 140-200 C and pressure 0.4-1.8 MPa in alkali medium, concentration of alkali being 10-35 mass as calculated for raw materials. Yield of desired dye is 100 EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method.
