FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for heat treatment of steel includes preliminary heating up to temperature higher than Ac1 by 10-20 C with isothermal holding for at least 4 h. After isothermal holding, further heating is effected to temperature higher than Ac3 by 140-160 C. Method is applicable in final heat treatment and in chemical and heat treatment. EFFECT: reduced autodeformation and higher yield point and impact strength. 1 tbl
