FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has cylinder, piston received in the cylinder, main combustion chamber, inlet passage, and prechamber. The prechamber is made in the cylinder head and consists of injection space with a nozzle and ignition space with a spark plug. The main combustion chamber is made in the cylinder head and confined with a displacer from its side wall. The ignition space is made in the displacer and has open face for communication with the slot space defined by the piston bottom and face of the displacer facing to it when the piston is in the top dead center. The axis of the sprayer of the nozzle passes through the open face of the ignition space. In vertical plane, the axis of the nozzle sprayer is positioned within the positive angle defined by the face of the displacer and axis of the spark plug. In compression, enriched fuel-air mixture enters the prechamber and displaces residual gases in the injection space. In so doing, the highly inflammable mixture is formed in the ignition space. After ignition, the torch of the combustion products of optimum composition is discharged through the slot space and ignites the mixture over all combustion chamber space.
