FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: air is fed to the source of the heated fluid. The thermodynamic condition of the fluid is changed, the fluid is expanded and swirled upstream of the turbine. The air is added to the heated working fluid for cooling under pressure which at least is equal to the pressure of the heated working fluid with changed thermodynamic condition. The cooled working fluid is expanded in the turbine to do useful work. In compression of the air directed to the source of the heated fluid the air is cooled with the air supplied for cooling the heated fluid. The gas-turbine engine has turbine 5, compressor 4, and source 1 of heated working fluid connected with the source of fuel and compressor 4 for supplying air for combustion of the fuel and cooling the heated working fluid. The compressor has the zone for expanding and swirling the heated fluid and zone 3 for mixing the heated fluid with cooling air downstream of the zone. The mixing zone is in communication with outlet stage 8 of compressor 4. The pressure downstream of the zone is at least equal to the pressure of the heated working fluid in mixing zone 3. Cold walls 15 and 16 of the heat exchanger are downstream of the outlet of stage 8 of compressor 4. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 6 cl, 2 dwg
