FIELD: metal working. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminary surface cleansing and the following irradiation with ions. Irradiation is carried out with metal or gas ions at impulse regime with microsecond time at accelerating voltage 25-100 keV and current density 1-20 mA/cm2. In the case of tool and member recovery before irradiation high-temperature exposition is carried out at 400-600 C for 60 min and air cooling. Method is used at ion-beam and high-temperature member and tool working made of alloying chrome-containing carbon steel in machine engineering and instrumental industries.
