FIELD: methods of increase of wear resistance of cutting tools, stamping equipment, parts of machines and mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: method includes implantation of ions of metal and/or nonmetal selected from group of elements forming hard compounds by creation in article material surface of two-layer structure. The first layer of said structure is formed at high energy of 80-200 keV and the second layer is formed at low energy of 20-80 keV of implanted ions. In this case, the second layer is formed in intermittent high-hardness sections with the help of screen located on treated article material. High-hardness sections are formed in periodically spaced strips 100-1000 mcm wide, periodically spaced rectangles 100-1000 mcm wide. The second layer is formed through screen whose material consists of elements forming hard compounds with implanted elements. Distance between high-hardness sections amounts from 50 to 500 mcm.
