PORTABLE REFRIGERATOR AND METHOD OF ITS OPERATION Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: refrigerating engineering; cooling, storage and transportation of perishables in portable refrigerator. SUBSTANCE: portable refrigerator has heat-insulated housing with cover and compartments for products, cooling agent reservoir, thermosorption compressor which is brought in communication with reservoir by means of pipe line fitted with shut-off regulating valve and thermometer. Method of operation of refrigerator consists in preparation of it for storage of cooled products and cooling of the housing interior in the course of their transportation. During preparation stage, compressor sorbent is regenerated and vapor is transferred to reservoir at increased pressure, then vapor is condensed and liquid cooling agent is accumulated in it under increased pressure. During second stage, pressure of vapor above liquid cooling agent is reduced to make it boil at simultaneous removal of heat from housing and absorption of low-pressure cooling agent vapor in compressor absorber. Preset level of cooling is ensured through maintenance of respective pressure of vapor above liquid cooling agent in reservoir. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 3 cl, 3 dwg
