RETAINER OF MECHANIZED AMMUNITION STOWAGE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: objects of armored vehicle armament. SUBSTANCE: retainer has bevelled hollow bushing 3 and retainer rod 4 enclosed by it that are engageable with retainer strips 5 of movable platform 6; they are installed in body 1 secured on floor 2. Retainer strips 5 are furnished with supporting lugs 7 located behind the zone of displacement of ammunition placed in the stowage. The edges of lugs 7 are engageable only with the bevel edge of hollow movable bushing 3 that is remote from the ammunition. Lugs 7 are offset from the ammunition behind the surface of retainer rod 4. The edges of the supporting lugs that are engageable with the bevel of hollow bushing 3 are positioned in the plane of movement of platform 6 at an angle to the plane of bevel of bushing 3; the edge point of supporting lug 7 that is adjacent to the ammunition is offset relative to the most remote one in the direction opposite to platform movement. Such a design makes it possible to decrease the width of the lugs of the retainer strips, shift the bushing and rod relative to the strips, and the bushing and rod relative to the lugs to the ammunition thus decreasing the overall dimensions and mass of mechanized stowage.
