FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: device provides for admission of thermal probe to the converter horizontally with subsequent introduction of it between the converter neck and water-jacket into the converter bath, aside from the basic oxygen furnace lance, accurate and quick temperature measurement. The main feature of the device is that the thermal probe is sectionalized, it has more than three water cooled sections fastened for turning relative to one another. The section can be stretched in a chain, they are made in the form of pipe sections and bent at an angle of 90 deg. Thermocouple cable is laid inside the sections.
