MEASURING PROBE SUBMERGED INTO MELT METAL Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC G01N1/10

Abstract RU 2308695 C2

FIELD: measuring probes submerged to melt metal for registering temperature, oxidation degree, carbon content and for sampling metal at blowing melt metal for further draining it without interrupting operation of converter.

SUBSTANCE: probe includes tuyere, mechanism for descending tuyere to melt and apparatus for measuring temperature of melt and for sampling it. Tuyere is in the form of three concentrically arranged tubes forming two ducts for supplying between their walls agents for cooling measuring cables passing through central duct of tuyere. Upper end of tuyere is provided with head with passages for supplying cooling agents. In central tube of tuyere metallic rod that fluid-tightly joined with central tube is inserted. Said rod in the form of staff has head and it supports contact holders and pickup for measuring melt level in converter. Staff also has mean portion in the form of hollow tube and tail portion with threaded sleeve for joining with tuyere. Said staff includes unit for mounting electric connectors to which measuring cable are to be connected. Body of staff is passed into tail portion of staff with formation of annular gap along the whole length of staff. On outer surface of sleeve of tail portion of staff there are ribs for securing to staff changeable unit in the form of cardboard box including temperature pickup and melt metal sample receiver. Said unit has connector for connecting with contact holder of staff. Melt metal level pickup is in the form of induction coil wound onto steel sleeve mounted in head of staff. Tuyere is freely suspended over converter by means of pulley block and it is provided with recharging mechanism in the form of manipulators for joining changeable units with staff. Tuyere includes magazine for storing changeable units and for transferring them to manipulator for joining changeable units with staff. Tuyere also includes pneumatic system for shooting off waste changeable units, tuyere oscillation suppressor after extracting tuyere from melt, apparatus for removing slag from tuyere surface, mechanism for shifting tuyere and mechanism for moving waste changeable units.

EFFECT: improved automatization degree of probe.
