FIELD: photography; measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: in case of optic medium between test object and photographic material being absent, test object image is formed on the optic slit, radiation issuing the slit is dispersed into separate parts with different wave-lengths. Dispersed slit image is formed on photographic material, wave-lengths present in the test object image are determined and optical transfer function values So(ν, λ), are calculated. All operations are repeated in the case of optic medium present between the test object and photographic material to determine the values of S(ν, λ), optical transfer functions are determined and the optical transfer function of the optic medium is calculated from the formula F(ν, λ=S(ν, λ)/So(ν, λ), where λ is the wave-length. EFFECT: higher accuracy in calculating optical transfer function. 2 dwg
