FIELD: energy converters of nuclear fusion. SUBSTANCE: pulse electrochemical energy converter has two electrochemical elements with platinum and palladium electrodes and aqueous solution of salt as electrolyte. Ordinary water is used as solvent in one element and heavy water in the other. Elements are connected through electrolyte by salt bridge. External D.C. power supply sources are connected to electrodes of elements. During operation simultaneous electrochemical saturation of palladium electrodes with hydrogen and deuterium takes place, voltage measured across palladium electrodes is compared with preset one and when it is achieved saturation of electrodes with gases is stopped by disconnection of external D.C. sources and circuit of external load between palladium electrodes is closed. EFFECT: increased conversion efficiency and reduced heat losses. 2 cl, 1 dwg
