FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: storage battery whose cathode has solid-phase salt of Fe (IV) and anode can be made of any number of different materials possessing oxidizing capability and used for anodes. Cathode and anode are made in the form of separate plates which are kept in electrochemical contact by means of electrically neutral ion conductor. Provision may be made for additional means preventing transfer of chemically active materials from one plate to other. In addition, provision may be made for gas-separating means to prevent accumulation of oxygen, hydrogen, and other gases. EFFECT: reduced cost, improved stability and charging capacity of battery. 36 cl, 5 dwg, 4 tbl, 4 ex
