FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: power supply has d.c. current source 1 connected to primary side of transformer 3 through main controlled switch 2 that functions to change over shorting-out circuit connected in parallel with main switch 2. Shorting-out circuit is essentially series-connected circuit that has auxiliary controlled switch (7, 9, 12) and capacitor (8, 10, 13). Control unit 14 is connected to switch 7, 9, or 12. Auxiliary switch (7, 9, 12) and capacitor (8, 10, 13) is chosen for shorting-out circuit proceeding from requirement for low circuit impedance at short rate of change-over of main controlled switch 2.
