SUBSTANCE: proposed converter has transformer connected to supply mains through inverter, damping circuit set up of series-connected diode and capacitor and inserted between rectifier and load filter, and controlled switch connected in parallel with diode.

EFFECT: reduced size and cost of converter as well as high-frequency noise.
