FIELD: wood drying. SUBSTANCE: method provides for working of piece source raw blanks, for instance, logs having butts 2. In this case the log, preliminarily worked of knots and bark, is wrapped in elastic pliable material in the form of band, and packing sheathes connected through branch pipes to a pressure or vacuum source are installed at the butts. The band has also nipples connected to the pressure or vacuum source. Gas pressure or vacuum force is applied, depending on the selected wood drying practice: if compressed superheated gas CO₂ is fed through the nipples, the nipples are connected to the vacuum; if gas is injected through the nipples, distance is accomplished through the vacuum plant by means of the nipples. At a considerable log diameter a groove is made along the log axis, and perforated tube is placed in it, through which gas is discharged or injected. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 5 dwg
