FIELD: mining and construction industries, particularly, making holes and workings of various applications such as prospecting, producing wells, holes for power transmission supports, etc. SUBSTANCE: self-contained apparatus contains lengthened body with working member; working medium generator accommodated in body cavity, and unit for conversion of compressed gas energy into two gaseous flows. Working medium generator has two working additional chambers. One working additional chamber has piston groups engageable from one control appliance and operating has harmonic and stable system of generation and consumption of working medium. Chamber engageable with the first chamber is made in the form of converter of gas flow energy into two flows different in temperature characteristics (degrees centigrade). Converter is made in the form of hollow cone with wave helical wall having variable screw lead and increasing towards large base of cone. Surface of wavy walls are made to profile preset by lemniscale curve that makes it possible to separate single gas flow into flow of negative and flow with positive temperatures, and to direct them for their direct use: to working medium generator, cooling jacket and to bottom hole, and also to process of hole wall stabilization.
