MECHANICAL WINCH Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: materials handling; lifting and transportation of loads in horizontal and inclined directions. SUBSTANCE: winch has body 1 with tie-rod, drum 3 with flexible traction member, forked lever 4 with socket 5 for fixing detachable handle 6 secured on axle 7. Cable attachment unit is made in form of wedge fitted in channel and rigidly secured on side wall inside ratchet wheel. Body and forked lever have pawls 15 pressed to ratchet wheel by coil springs 16 thrusting against covers 17 with two slots and turned into protective cups 18. Secured on ends of pawls are locks 19 getting into one of two slots on covers. Difference in depth of slots is sufficient to drive pawls out of engagement. Detachable handle is secured by means of two stop cups 21 loaded by spring 21. Cups get into socket slots on forked lever. EFFECT: enhanced operation reliability. 2 cl, 3 dwg
