HAND-OPERATED WINCH Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: handling loads over horizontal and inclined planes. SUBSTANCE: winch comprises drum 1 installed on axle 2. The same axle carries two turnable shackles 3 and 4. Operating handle is secured on shackle 3. One (or both) of drum sideplates is made as a ratchet wheel 6 whose teeth are in contact with spring-loaded pawl 7 mounted on power-operated shackle 3. Also mounted on axle 2 is disc 8 made as a ratchet wheel whose teeth contact the spring-loaded pawl 9 also secured on power-operated shackle 3. Teeth of disc and drum ratchet wheels face in contrary directions. Surfaces of disc and drum sideplate which are facing each other have serrations and there is drum reversing mechanism 10 installed between said disc and drum sideplate and ensuring motion of drum in the same direction during reverse motion of the handle. This reversing mechanism has the form of a bevel gear freely rotating on axle installed on shackle 4. The latter has a hole disposed opposite the middle of drum axle. The hole provided for passage of one of the cables has rollers intended to diminish friction of the cable against the shackle. Secured on the drum are two cables. EFFECT: improved design. 2 cl, 2 dwg
