FIELD: foundry, in particular, casting of billets for storage mills. SUBSTANCE: method involves casting rectangular ingot in crystallizer; cutting it lengthwise into separate billets. Ingot cast has thickness equal to 0.8-1.1 of predetermined width of billet. Cutting line is extending in spaced relation with respect to narrow face, with space value being equal to 0.6-1.0 of ingot thickness. Ingot is cut into rectangular and sheet billets, into two rectangular and one sheet billets and into three rectangular billets. EFFECT: increased efficiency. 4 cl
