FIELD: metallurgy, namely continuous casting of steel billets and hot rolling merchant bars of them. SUBSTANCE: method comprises continuous casting of steel to rectangular cross section billets for further hot rolling of them to blanks and bars. At continuous casting doubled cross section billet with joining bridge is cast. Width of joining bridge consists 3 - 9 % of width of doubled billet. Then doubled billet is separated by removing bridge and two separated billets are heated until 1200 - 1300 C and they are rolled at total elongation degree no less than 5 and at temperature of rolling process termination in range 1000 - 1100 C. Invention provides complete working up of cast structure of steel, lowered influence of remaining looseness and segregations on faces of billets turned to bridge.
