FIELD: metallurgy, continuous casting of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves supplying metal from pouring ladle into vacuum chamber provided with vacuum pipeline; creating required residual pressure in vacuum chamber; treating metal in vacuum chamber; supplying metal into intermediate ladle through branch pipe and further into crystallizers; withdrawing ingots from crystallizer. In the process of casting, metal level in working cavity of vacuum chamber is periodically increased and decreased for a value equal to 0.2-0.8 of height of vacuum chamber working cavity. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of metal. 1 tbl
