FIELD: metallurgy, continuous casting of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves increasing pressure in vacuum chamber to atmospheric pressure, when metal layer thickness on pouring ladle is within the range of 100-250 mm; cutting off channel section in branch pipe to the value providing working weight flow rate of metal from intermediate ladle into crystallizers; pouring remaining metal from pouring ladle into vacuum chamber. Branch pipe in vacuum chamber is provided with sliding shutter. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced consumption of metal. 1 dwg
