FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: charge containing copper concentrate and quartz flux is melted to form alloys of matte and slag, then matte is converted to produce rough copper and converter slags. Before pouring off the slag, the melt is treated with liquid rough copper at the rate of 0.5-0.8 kg copper per 1 kg magnetite in the melt. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 tbl
