FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy immediately dealing with processes of copper-and-zinc materials pyrometallurgic selection, being aimed to provide for selective separation of non-ferrous metals with zinc reduced to gaseous phase at the matte conversion stage. In accordance with the proposed method of zinc-containing copper materials processing matte is charged into the converter and converted by way of air blowing in two stages. Delivery of air with admixture of fuel is performed at the second stage. Charge of zinc-containing copper materials is also performed at the second stage of the conversion process after slag tapping and appearance of new portions of metallic copper. As a result high-grade matte or crude copper is produced alongside with zinc fumes in exhaust gases.
EFFECT: reduced intensifty of capacities utilisation and fuel consumption alongside with combined processing of copper mattes and zinc-containing copper materials.
