FIELD: ion-exchange procedure. SUBSTANCE: molasses solution is passed successively through the sulfoacid styrenedivinylbenzene gel cationite in Ca2+-form and then through the sulfoacid styrenedivinylbenzene porous cationite in Ca2+-form and then through the high-basic anionite in OH---form. Porous cationite is eluted with water, and betaine fraction is isolated. Anionite is eluted with alkaline solution, and fraction containing sodium glutamate is obtained. Sugar fraction after purification on anionite is carbonized, and precipitate is separated. Gel cationite is regenerated with calcium-containing solution. Process is realized at continuous regime.
