FIELD: transport. SUBSTANCE: retarder-brake has pressure accumulator kinematically coupled with vehicle wheels, compressor connected by means of air ducts, valves and intake and discharge controlled valves with pressure accumulator communicating with intake manifold of vehicle engine and made in form of communicating cylinders enclosed in common hermetic shell, and braking control system. Retarder-brake has electromagnetic traction relays with springs and additional valve installed on air duct between pressure accumulator and compressor, and switch electrically coupled with electromagnetic traction relays, brake pedal and power source. Intake and discharge valves are installed square to direction of air flow in air duct. EFFECT: facilitated starting of engine from cold, increased service life and braking properties of brakes, reduced fuel consumption. 6 dwg
