FIELD: transport engineering; truck brake systems. SUBSTANCE: proposed retarder brake has oil pump, piston, cylinder, outlet valve with valve spring, rocker, tappet coupled with hydraulic drive, hydraulic device, oil distributor, drain and cut-in electromagnetic valves, intake branch pipe shutter, hydraulic cylinder, air distributor, air valve, receiver and brake valve. Drain and cut-in electromagnetic valves are installed in oil pump body. Hydraulic device consists of bushing in which T- shaped port is made. Bushing accommodates tappet with through hole, upper part of tappet being made in form of cylinder with fitted-in piston interacting with outlet valve and its spring through rocket. Receiver is connected by air pipes with air valve through brake valve and air distributor. Air valve proper is located in upper part of engine cylinder accommodating piston. Hydraulic section of brake valve is coupled by hydraulic main line with hydraulic cylinder connected with intake branch pipe shutter. EFFECT: improved reliability. 3 dwg
