FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: connected to junction of pressure high-line conduit and power conduit is inclined chamber of compensating basin whose open part is communicated with its openwater reservoir. Angle of inclination of chamber relative to horizon is less than 45 deg. Inclined chamber simultaneously serves as connecting member between open reservoir of compensating basin and pressure conduit and also as working zone of compensating basin during operation of hydroelectric power station under stationary conditions. When head changes in the chamber lower part, water level in it or in water reservoir also changes to ensure damping of hydraulic impact in high-line conduit. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
