FIELD: machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of imparting to a tool a feed rate, corresponding to a relation, given in a description of the invention; mounting the tool with possibility of touching of a profiling point of a cutting edge of the tool and a lower active point of an involute profile of a tooth. That allows to receive upon working a theoretically accurate profile of the tooth along an elongated involute and to eliminate a curvature of a recess of a bottom upon working gear wheels, being used in a transmission with large generating angles degrees. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy at shaping an involute profile of gear wheel teeth in transmissions with large generating angles. 1 cl, 2 dwg
