FIELD: welding technique. SUBSTANCE: universal welding generator, including a main and an additional three-phase windings of a stator, mutually, biased one relative to another by 90 electric degrees, a main and an additional driving windings, first and second three-phase bridge-type rectifiers with a capacitor of a filter, connected with an output of the last, a controlling unit with a discrete control circuit, feed back rectifier and a voltage divider, also includes a matching transformer with three-phase current winding and three-phase voltage winding, a mode switch-over, a power rectifier and a current transformer. The main three-phase winding of the stator has parallel sections, that may be joined in series, by a "star" connection, in parallel and by a "triangle" connection. The invention provides steeply sloping outer characteristic, suitable for energizing a welding arc, and a stable characteristics, suitable for feeding power to a motor load.
