FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling. SUBSTANCE: in modified design of tape lock joint tape is made of steel of definite composition featuring high plastic properties at high strength. Longitudinal axes of extreme pairs of shaped projections and cavities of modified tape lock joint and fixing member coincide with longitudinal axis of tape, and longitudinal axes of at least one of other pairs of shaped projections and cavities of lock joint are displaced from longitudinal axis of tape in perpendicular direction through distance Δ, found from relation 0,1b ≥ Δ ≥ 0,01b where b - width of tape. With displacement of axes of more than one pair of shaped projections and cavities of lock joint, nearest pairs of shaped projections and cavities are displaced opposite to each other. Shaped projections of lock joint on upper and lower ends of tape are either arranged in parallel with tape plane, or are made bow-shaped. Tape is made of steel of the following composition, mass %: carbon 0.30 - 0.45; manganese 1.2-1.60; silicon 0.20-0.60; chromium 0.30-0.60; copper 0.10-0.30; aluminium 0.001-0.30; calcium 0.001-0.003; cerium 0.001-0.003 and the rest ferrum. And 1,0 ≥ Si+2Cu ≥ 0,5:2,5 ≥ Si+Cr+Mn ≥ 1,8.. EFFECT: enhanced quality of lock joint. 5 cl, 6 dwg, 1 tbl
