FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used during manufacture of structural elements - end parts of fuel assemblies, reactor basket, reflection shield, rods of control and protection systems, etc. of parts of active zone of water-to-water reactor. Workpiece from "15Х14С2ВФА" steel is subject to heat mechanical treatment and mechanical cutting; at that, there also performed is stepped heat treatment including the exposure of element at 930-950°C during 30-40 minutes, heating of the element surfaces contacting with heat carrier to 1050-1150°C, with heating rate of 0.5-100°C/min with exposure at this temperature during 0.1-20 min, hardening till layer thickness of hardened steel of 5 to 100 mcm is reached, steel tempering of the element at 680-760°C during 3 h to 20 min and cooling of the element.
EFFECT: providing high corrosion resistance in water and steam in the element metal surfaces contacting with heat carrier at service life of 5 to 60 years, and providing high resistance level in metal of inner part of the element to irradiation embrittlement at the same service life.
