FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by reduction of 6-brom-2,4-dinitrophenol. The latter compound is prepared by simultaneously nitration and bromination of chlorobenzene. The process is followed by hydrolysis thus prepared 2-brom-4,6-dinitrochlorobenzene with the help of aqueous alkali at 70-95 C. Said hydrolysis may be carried out in aqueous-ammonium medium with the help of ammonium sulfide or sulfides of alkali metal. EFFECT: improves efficiency of method.
