FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: silencer has cylindrical housing with intake and exhaust branch pipes divided into intake, exhaust and central chambers by circular partitions; end circular partitions are provided with intake and exhaust swirlers directed towards flow. Chamber between partition provided with intake swirler and central partition is connected with exhaust chamber by means of pipe having perforated end. Innovation consists in fitting the silencer with two or more additional swirlers mounted on circular partitions. Last additional swirler is mounted in outlet portion of tube which is perforated before each swirler and is located inside additional swirlers. Each swirler has two and more plates whose form is identical to part of lateral surface of truncated cone; larger base of this cone is connected to circular partition over spiral line and lesser bases are interconnected forming axial passage. Inner surface of cone, inner and outer surfaces of plates and circular partition form radial passage. Swirler mounted in outlet portion of tube may be made in form of bushless swirler. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency in entire range of acoustic noise and reduced hydraulic resistance of silencer. 2 cl, 4 dwg
