FIELD: heat power engineering. SUBSTANCE: cooling tower water catcher has a grate of vertically installed U-shaped plates. The plates have straight-line extreme sections 2,3, two curvilinear sections 4,5, two straight-line equidimensional middle sections 6,7 inclined to the vertical and conjugate to central curvilinear section 8. Extreme sections 2,3 are inclined to the vertical at an angle that is smaller than the angle of inclination of middle sections 6,7 and makes up 4 to 12 deg. Sections 4,5 have a radius of curvature equal to the radius of curvature of central section 8. The width of each grate makes up 0.3 to 0.5 of its height. The water catcher grate is assembled of plates with formation of curvilinear ducts, in which coagulation of water drops, their separation, precipitation on duct walls and discharge from ducts in the form of a film into the cooling tower occurs. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
