FIELD: medical facilities. SUBSTANCE: vocal apparatus produces vibrations of membrane which are transmitted through cervicomental region of larynectomes to oral cavity and are converted into speech sounds by speech articulation. apparatus has low-frequency pulse generator with power amplifier, electrodynamic converter of electric pulses into membrane vibrations with high efficiency, and storage battery. There are means for switching the apparatus and means for control of tone and loudness. Loudness of apparatus is increased by reduction of mechanical losses of movable system. Loudness is regulated from maximum to whisper without distorting tone quality due to radial tension of elastic diaphragm of impact unit suspension. Specific force action of sound pulses of the membrane on throat tissues is decreased at high sound loudness by means of selection of optimal diameter of membrane contact ring. Apparatus magnetic system is made with limited scattering field of lines of force. Apparatus is supplied from mains rectifier or from some other D.C. source. The apparatus is all-weather instrument. Electrodynamic converter unit may be separated from apparatus and fastened to patient's neck. In this case, patient's hand only control the functioning of apparatus.
