FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: the product: calcium ascorbinate. Reagent 1: 11-30 wt % aqueous ascorbic acid solution. Reagent 2: calcium carbonate or hydroxide. Reaction conditions: on heating at temperature of not higher than 60 C followed by treatment with carbon, separation of the precipitate and concentration of the filtrate to 50-60 wt %, addition of methanol or ethanol under agitation to the resulting concentrate prior to crystallization of calcium ascorbinate, and thee desired product is crystallized on cooling from +5 C to -10 C and is thereafter removed, washed and dried. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 4 cl, 1 tbl
