FIELD: formation of coating on friction surfaces. SUBSTANCE: method for formation of coating on friction surfaces provides for use of composition of finely divided mixture of minerals serpentine, enstatite and magnetite or their combination with, at least, one mineral taken from the group including amphibole, biotile, ilmenite, pentlandite, pyrrhotite, talc, chalcopyrite or native sulfur, and binder with dispersity of 0.01-1 mcm. Mixture is subjected to aperidic vibration with the composition components content of, mas.%: mixture of minerals 3.3; binder 96.7. Then, composition is placed between friction surfaces and running-in is effected. In this event, composition has the following qualitative and quantitative characteristics of its ingredients, mas. %: SiO 30-40; MgO 30-35; Fe2O3 10-15; FeO 4-6; Al2O3 3-8; S 2-6, the balance, impurities Ti, Y, Mn, Ni, Cr, K, Ca and Co. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
