FIELD: methods of catalytic purification of gasses. SUBSTANCE: method of gas clearance from hydrogen sulfide is exercised by its oxidation in elementary sulfur medium in presence of granulated titanium oxide catalyst, that has promoted addition of silicon carbide within duration of contact for 1 - 5.1 s. In the case they use catalyst with special surface of 88 - 260 mm2/g/g and has promoted silicon carbide under following ratio of components, mass % : promoted silicon carbide - 0.5 - 36, titanium dioxide - balance. In the case as promoters silicon carbide has one or several oxides of metals, taken from group: MO, V, Fe, Mg, Sr or graphite. Catalyst production method is described.
