FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: wood composite material, plywood for example, is produced by hydrothermal processing, then it is subjected to shelling resulting in veneer sheet. Obtained veneer sheet is dried in medium free from products of fuel combustion, including formaldehyde, with method completely excluding the contents of products of fuel combustion in drying agent. Packets are shaped of veneer sheets by application of binder to even veneer sheets from both sides with consequent stacking of veneer sheets with mutually perpendicular arrangement of fibres. After premolding the shaped packets they are subjected to hot molding. All technological operations following the drying of wood base are carried out in medium in which contents of formaldehyde and other detrimental agents do not exceed their background concentration. In this case concentration of formaldehyde escaping from pure wood is taken for background concentration of formaldehyde, for example. Escape of formaldehyde (its background concentration) from wood of birch 24 hours after exhibiting its samples at 40 C, ratio of interchange of air 1 turn/hour and at saturation of 1.2 sq.m/qu.m makes up 0.239 mg/qu.m. EFFECT: facilitated manufacture. 1 cl
