FIELD: making of lime-soda soda-lime glass. SUBSTANCE: mixture of gaseous electron-donor compound and silane at a ratio of 0.5:1 to 15:1 is fed to the surface of float-glass heated above to 15:1 is fed to the surface of float-glass heated above 600 C in nonoxidizing atmosphere. As a result, a transparent barrier coating, up to 50 nm thick, is formed on the glass surface; after that a conducting layer of metal oxide with additives is applied onto the obtained barrier layer by spraying or chemical deposition from the gas phase. Ethylene is used as electron- donor compound, and monosilane - as silane. EFFECT: an effective transparent barrier is produced that prevents migration of ions of alkali metal to the float-glass surface, which results in improvement of transparence and reflectance of float-glass coated with conducting layer; this method is successfully built in the technological cycle of application of coating on float-glass. 3 cl, 7 tbl
