FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a glass article having a zinc oxide coating, which can be used in construction. The glass article has a glass base and a zinc oxide coating with high content of dopants, in which the molar ratio of dopants to zinc ranges from 0.1 to 5%, as well as a protective metal oxide coating and, optionally, an underlayer for inhibiting light. The dopant used is a substance selected from: aluminium, gallium, boron, and the protective coating material is a substance selected from: tin oxide, silicon oxide, aluminium oxide, titanium oxide, niobium oxide and zirconium oxide. The glass article has high transmission coefficient in the visible region, relatively low transmission coefficient for solar energy, low emission coefficient and high selectivity towards solar radiation. In particular, the coating thickness in the 1600-9000 Ǻ interval is selected such that the difference between the transmission coefficient in the visible region (light source S) and the general transmission coefficient of solar energy of the glass article having a coating which is integrated with an air mass of 1.5 on the transparent glass base with nominal thickness of 6 mm provides selectivity towards solar radiation of not less than 28.
EFFECT: design of a glass article with a coating, a neutral hue, which removes solar radiation during the summer and provides low heat absorption coefficient during winter.
