GEAR MEASURING PARAMETERS OF INCLINED SECTIONS OF BOREHOLES Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: drilling equipment. SUBSTANCE: gear includes information module and anchor connected to ends of flexible element. Module is placed into space of inclined section of drill pipe sting. Anchor carries coil for flexible element and is registered in space of upper or lower part of vertical section of drill pipe string. This makes it possible to conduct drilling process during transportation of module to point of measurements. Coil axis is oriented along string axis. Unit registering anchor in lower part of vertical section of string is manufactured in the form of mounting saddle. Length of flexible element is not less than length of section of string from point of placement of module in inclined section to point of registration of anchor in vertical section. Anchor includes container floating in borehole medium which enables removal of module to be started immediately after disconnection of mud pumps.
