FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gear train is used to adjust (reduce) gear clearance between teeth of drive and driven wheels which occurs and increases due to wear of teeth. Gear train with adjustable gear clearance between teeth has drive and driven wheels with teeth mounted on shafts. Teeth of drive wheel may have spherical convex, biconvex, double herringbone with crests at the center and taper profiles. Teeth of driven wheel have respectively spherical concave, biconcave, double herringbone with spaces in the center and taper profiles. Driven wheel consists of two half-wheels provided with half-teeth which form teeth and one additional hub whose splines are fitted on common hub at space relation to each other; they are interconnected by means of bolts for motion over splines on common hub relative to each other, i.e. at varying clearance between half-wheels. For automatic change of magnitude of clearance between half-teeth of driven wheel, half- wheels are loaded with springs of different stiffness which are located on bolts. Drive wheel may be also made of two half-wheels provided with half-teeth forming teeth and with one additional hub mounted on common hub by its splines in space relation to each other; they are interconnected by means of bolts for motion over splines on common hub relative to each other, thus changing the magnitude of clearance between half-wheels. Gear train may be made in two versions with combination profiles of teeth where has double herringbone profile with spaces or taper profile. Specific feature for adjustment of gear clearance between teeth of drive and driven wheels is varying thickness of half-teeth, i.e. thickness at one end of half-teeth differs from that at other end - it changes in taper dependence or in dependence of two arcs of similar radii. EFFECT: enhanced durability and smooth operation due to manual or automatic adjustment of gear clearance. 4 cl, 7 dwg
