FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to machine parts, and namely to gear transmissions of external engagement, which consist of two cylindrical wheels with parallel axes and teeth, which have arched longitudinal and evolvent transverse profiles. Gear transmission consists of two cylindrical gear wheels (1, 2) with teeth having arched longitudinal and evolvent transverse profiles. Initial generating outline of small wheel (1) is offset from rotation axis of small wheel, and initial generating outline of large wheel (2) is offset to rotation axis of large wheel. Absolute values of offsets of initial generating outlines of wheels are equal to each other and equal to the product of offset coefficient by teeth modulus. Offset coefficient has the value, which is one of the solutions of the specified inequality, and engagement angle of gear transmission has the value, which is one of the solutions of the specified system of inequalities.
EFFECT: improving manufacturability of the design of gear transmission owing to creating such gear transmission, the main cylinders of both wheels of which are located between cylinders of lower points of active profile and cylinders of cavities.
