FIELD: data storage methods and devices. SUBSTANCE: method involves application of light flow, which is modulated by pulses of information signal, to recording layer of information carrier, heating alternating local areas of recording layer by these pulses, regulating intensity of light of recording optical signal. Specific feature of this method consists in detection of change in optical characteristics of some part of recording layer, when this part is heated, by means of tracing change in light that runs through it or is reflected from it. Results of tracing are used for change in speed of optical characteristics of processed area of recording layer. This results in regulation of intensity of recording optical signal so that speed of change of optical characteristics remains constant. Corresponding device has unit for scanning optical information carrier by laser light beam, light intensity modulator, unit for detection of reflected or passed-through light, unit for regulation of light intensity and introduced unit for measuring speed of change in optical characteristics.
