FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: membrane module represents housing with three proximate working chambers. Lateral walls of chamber (for desalinization) are formed by cation- and anion-exchange membranes. Lateral walls of two other chambers are formed by cation-exchange membrane and impermeable inert surface and anion-exchange membrane and impermeable surface, correspondingly. Each chamber of module is equipped with branch pipes for inlet and outlet of working solutions. Impermeable inert surface is made as film. The module contains central cylindrical member in whose notches the membranes and impermeable inert film are fixed. The membranes and the film are separated from each other by screens-separators. The working chambers are made by winding of membranes, film and screens-separators on central cylindrical member. In this case coagulated multilayer roll is sealed in cylindrical housing. The innovation concerns spiral membrane module containing ion-exchange membranes and can be used for desalinization of water solutions of carbohydrates, natural and synthetic polymers.
