FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: grinding apparatus for making suspensions of fibers contains housing 3 having at least one inlet hole 13 for suspension and one outlet hole 14 for ground suspension, rotor in the form of drum 9 with jacket 5 mounted for rotating in housing 3 and having grinding surface with perforations 10 passing through rotor and at least one stator 19 placed in the housing and having stator shoe 31 with perforations 32 located near grinding surface of rotor with formation of space between it and housing. Grinding apparatus is equipped with screening and guiding means 35 disposed between inlet 13 and outlet 14 holes with overlapping of spaces between stator shoes 31 and dividing the housing into two hermetic mutually separated parts. One part of them is communicated with inlet hole, the other part with outlet hole. In this case rotor and one surface of stator shoe are placed in one part of housing. Another surface of stator shoe is located in another part. The screening and guiding means are mounted for flow passage between inlet and outlet holes through perforations of stator shoe. The screening and guiding means can be placed in space between stator shoe and the housing with the possibility of passing through the flow of ground suspension supplied through perforations of stator shoe to outlet hole. The space can be communicated with internal part of drum to return into it the suspension which has passed through perforations of drum jacket between stators. The drum can have open end from the side of outlet hole. The space can be communicated with internal part of drum through its open end. Internal surface of drum jacket can be expanded along cone towards open end of drum. The screening and guiding means can be placed between inlet hole and stator shoe for feeding the suspension from inlet hole to perforations of stator shoe. The screening and guiding means can be placed between outlet hole and stator shoe for feeding the ground suspension from perforations of stator shoe towards outlet hole. The screening and guiding means can contain stator sections. Stator can be made in the shape of disk and in this case it has stator shoes in the form of circle sectors placed along circumference with space between them. There with the screening and guiding means contain portions of sector between stator shoes and ring-shaped portion of stator circumference radially outside stator shoes.
